It is hoped that by publishing high quality undergraduate research work the journal will strengthen the link between teaching and research in higher education.Dr Celia Knight, Chair of the Bioscience Horizons’ editorial board, comments, "Research projects are a key element of undergraduate study and lie at the heart of the link between research and teaching in Universities. Bioscience Horizons aims to promote this link by showing everyone the skills and standards that UK undergraduates can achieve in their projects. We hope that students, teachers, bioscientists and employers will all find it a useful and inspiring teaching, learning and research resource".
Jonathan Crowe, Science Publisher in OUP’s Higher Education Department added, “Oxford University Press is committed to helping students develop educationally throughout their time at university, and we have built up a range of resources to help them master the key skills and concepts that underpin successful experimental work. We are delighted to be a part of this novel way of encouraging students to put these important research skills into practice - and to recognize students' achievement in doing so.”
