A new journal to address global energy concerns

12 June 2008

The Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) have announced that the Journal of World Energy Law & Business will be published by Oxford University Press from May 2008. This will complement Oxford’s other journals in the energy and environmental law field, including the Journal of Environmental Law.

The Journal of World Energy Law & Business takes a multidisciplinary approach in analyzing significant topical issues in the international energy industry from the perspective of commercial, financial, legal, economic, political, environmental, and policy experts.

Edited by Professor Thomas Wälde, Professor & Jean Monnet Chair, Centre for Energy, Petroleum & Mineral Law & Policy, the Journal combines academic excellence with a strong industry focus.

Coverage will include upstream oil and gas transactions, finance, taxation, regulation, dispute management, alternative energy resources, energy policy and security, and international energy organizations.

Catherine Redmond, Senior Commissioning Editor for Oxford University Press said: “As part of a university press, and with experience of working with some of the world’s most prestigious societies, we offer high-quality publishing services, as well as an innovative, personalized approach to our partners. We are looking forward to working closely with the AIPN to maximize the reach and impact of the Journal of World Energy Law & Business, as we have with our other law journals.”

This new publishing partnership for the Journal of World Energy Law & Business will result in several key developments, including a new and cohesive online platform for the journal, developed in association with HighWire Press.

Members of the AIPN will automatically gain free access to the journal online and will receive a discount on any print subscription they place.
