2013 Cover Competition Winner

Each year, the British Journal of Aesthetics holds a competition open to students on full-time undergraduate or graduate courses at art and design schools or faculties in any country to design a cover for the journal. The winning entry showcases the distinctive style of the artist, while remaining consistent with the series of covers as a whole.

This year we received over fifty entries. The winning design graces the October 2013 issue. It was submitted by Maddy Vian, who is a a third-year student on the Illustration and Animation course at Kingston University.

We were very fortunate that Britain’s leading graphic designer John Morgan agreed to serve on the panel of judges. We are also very grateful to Oxford University Press for sponsoring the competition.

Next year's competition will be announced in January. We look forward to seeing more great entries!
